(ANSA) - ROME, 15 MAY - About a quarter of middle and high school students turn to private teachers for support in their studies, regardless of their performance. An aid that, for the single school year, weighs on average on families around four hundred euros; But there are those who spend even more.
Mathematics, Science, Latin and Greek are the most requested disciplines. This is what emerges from the traditional "OsservatorioRipetizioni Private" of Ripetizioni.it - an Italian reference platform for online and face-to-face private lessons - built through the testimonies of a sample of 10,000 middle and high school students.
In particular, 1 in 4 pupils - regardless of their performance - resorted to repetition. If you focus only on high school students, private lessons involve about 3 out of 10 students. If you then isolate those who received the dreaded "debt" at the end of the first quarter - you get to more than 4 out of 10. Then there is a further contingent, about 1 in 5, who were able to count on the support of friends, parents and relatives to receive free tutoring.
About 400 euros per person is the average expense among those who, from September to today, have benefited from private lessons. Among the big cities, Milan is the most expensive city, with an average budget of over 500 euros per family; Naples the cheapest, at 300 euros.
About 6 out of 10 students, among those who have had private lessons, have turned to a teacher of Mathematics, the "queen" subject of repetitions. Over 1 in 4 pupils have sought one of Science. In third place, however, there are classical subjects - Latin and Greek - for which 24% of the sample requested help. Over a fifth (21%) needed repetition in foreign languages. (ANSA).
