The murder of a 25-year-old woman in Rafael Castillo provoked a strong reaction against the police on Sunday from the residents of that town of La Matanza. Patrol cars were stoned and a police checkpoint set on fire.

The victim, identified as Evelyn Marianela Portillo, was at dawn with her boyfriend and some friends at the intersection of García Merou and Polledo streets, in an area of land taken known as "La Nueva Unión", when four suspects aboard two motorcycles attacked them with bullets.

As a result of that aggression, Portillo, mother of a 4-year-old girl, was shot at least once in the back so she was rushed to the Favaloro Hospital, in Rafael Castillo, where she was admitted lifeless. Two other men were injured.

Evelyn Marianela Portillo (25), murdered in Rafael Castillo (La Matanza). He had a 4-year-old daughter.

Investigators have ruled out a robbery and believe it was in the context of a failed settling of scores, which targeted a known drug dealer in the area.

One of the attackers was recognized by the victim's boyfriend by the nickname "Chuki."

At night there were clashes between the residents of the place and the police. In videos that circulated on social networks, images were seen with stones against the patrol cars, in addition to the fire of a police checkpoint.

The police personnel even had to stand behind the vehicles, before starting the withdrawal.

The case was left in the hands of prosecutor Karina Licalzi in charge of the Functional Unit of Instruction (UFI) Thematic Homicides of La Matanza.

"

My cousin Eve, so beautiful and so good, lit up the world with her smile. Fighter and with such a beautiful energy! I'm going to miss you so much, it hurts my heart so much to know that we will not see you again because of bad people!! They will receive their punishment," Sol Centurión Portillo said on Facebook.

In addition, Jorge Dornel wrote: "It is a shame that the Police know very well who they are and do nothing. Justice for Evelyn Portillo, enough of insecurity."

Threats and assault on journalists in La Matanza

The party located west of the Buenos Aires suburb was also news this Wednesday when journalistic teams of LN + and C5N were threatened and assaulted by two young people who, wielding a weapon, attacked and assaulted them during the coverage they were carrying out for a drug dispute in the Las Antenas neighborhood, in the town of Lomas del Mirador.

The episode was recorded live by one of the cameras of one of the news programs that had arrived at the site to account for a shooting that occurred on Tuesday night, when part of the gang allegedly led by Chaki Chan – a recognized narco of the region – tried to take over the territory despite the resistance of the neighbors.

Two minutes before 8:30 and after starting his report, journalist Ignacio Damonte took a few steps, lowered his microphone and gave the order to do the same with the camera manipulated by his coverage partner, Jonatan. And the transmission was cut off, partially.

The following postcards were as outrageous as they were incredible, because the images that were reproduced showed the pavement, a fragment of a truck and outstretched hands, clearly realizing that the device and the work equipment were on the ground.

In the background, the shouts, reproaches and insults put more drama to the sequence that, in itself, was tense by others. "We're leaving, we're leaving. They pointed a gun at us recently," says the LN+ journalist, who was surprised by two attackers on Almirante Brown Street, between Salcedo and Pagola.
