The local government center will begin an indefinite strike on Monday, following the dispute with the coalition and the government over the promotion of the establishment of a "property tax fund." Local authorities strongly oppose the law, warning that residents will not pay municipal taxes.

The lie behind the initiative
- The "Arnona Fund" bill is ostensibly supposed to correct a distortion, according to which residential property taxes are relatively low, which leads mayors to build less for residential purposes and invest more in businesses and industrial zones, where municipal taxes are significantly higher.
- The coalition argues that the fund will make residential construction more worthwhile, and for this purpose each authority will transfer to the fund 10%-49% of its annual business property tax profit. The coalition also claims that the money collected will be distributed back to all the authorities, but in practice there is no evidence for this and the government will be able to do with the money as it pleases.

Demonstrations against the Arnona Fund will be held throughout the country: "They are trying to rob the public purse"
- The leaders of the "resistance to the dictatorship" announced that starting at 19 p.m., demonstrations would be held in front of municipal buildings throughout the country to protest the government's attempt to "rob the public purse and harm the education, welfare and culture of local authorities and strong cities for the benefit of sectoral funds."
- "The looting government is trying to eliminate everything that is good in the State of Israel. Instead of investing in citizens, they are distributing NIS 13.3 billion to the ultra-Orthodox and Smotrich's friends, and looting the coffers of the municipalities," one of the protest leaders said. "This is a robbery in broad daylight of taxpayers, who bear the burden and of the liberal public. The looting of the coffers and the weakening of the local government also happened in Orban's Hungary, and tonight we will go out and tell the government – enough is enough."
