To treat locals and tourists, the Bordeaux University Hospital, whose staff is at half-mast, must adapt. While the unions still feared in April a closure of the emergency room, the management announces a reorganization that applies from Tuesday. Closed to the general public, the Pellegrin site now only receives patients referred to it by the SAMU. Traumatology, road accidents and emergency surgeries will be concentrated there, 7/7 and 24/24. Except for a vital emergency, there is no need to go there: you would be immediately redirected to another structure, insists the health establishment in a statement.
Also open full-time and located in the city center near the Palais Rohan, the emergencies of Saint-André, they are now intended to receive the all-comers "in the usual conditions," says the management. In other words: in a context "in tension". To relieve the flow of patients and the work of the medical teams, the Bordeaux University Hospital reminds us: it is better to try to reach the 15th before going to the site where waiting times are also important.

Anticipating an increase in pressure due to the summer period that begins with its flood of tourists, the Bordeaux University Hospital also asks patients to contact their doctor first. A recommendation that makes it possible to reserve the solicitations of the SAMU to emergencies and therefore to limit "long waits".
