The councilor of the ultra party agitated the discourse against the emigrants and linked them with the presence of drugs in the locality. Police found 1.7 kilos of cocaine, cash, mobile phones, short and long weapons and cartridges, as well as dogs of prey and horses inside an enclosure that had video surveillance systems. Until her arrest, the aggressive dogs of the councilwoman and her husband were an open secret.

The councilor of the ultra party agitated the discourse against the emigrants and linked them with the presence of drugs in the locality. According to the police, she was part with her husband of a plot that operated in Madrid and Toledo

Ana González Martínez, 38, had a salary in her father's company dedicated to the manufacture of parts for airplanes, earned more than 1,000 euros a month as a councilor of Vox in the City Council of Parla (Madrid) and, according to the police, had a third source of income thanks to the sale of cocaine. The number three on the electoral list of the ultra party for the 28-M elections was arrested on Thursday by the National Police in an operation against the sale and distribution of drugs in the southern area of Madrid and in nearby municipalities in the province of Toledo. In the operation, which remains open and is under summary secrecy, three other people were arrested, all of Spanish nationality.

During the searches in his home in Parla and in his farms of Yeles and Borox (Toledo) the police found 1.7 kilos of cocaine, cash, mobile phones, short and long weapons and cartridges, as well as dogs of prey and horses inside an enclosure that had video surveillance systems. Until her arrest, the aggressive dogs of the councilwoman and her husband were an open secret that they did not even try to hide in their social networks. The police accuse them of drug trafficking, money laundering and "electricity fraud", which means that, according to the police, in addition to the distribution of cocaine, they had a significant marijuana plantation with more than 5,000 plants that they cultivated with an illegal hook to the network.

Vox's number three in Parla, arrested in an anti-drug operation

In the village they called her "the Nazi", says a person who had contact with her during her last four years in the City Council of Parla. "She was polite, but very radical. I was against the emigrants, against the social programs, against the minutes of silence of the City Council... Against everything," he says. "It was the discourse of the party in its purest form," explains a member of the current mayor's team, with whom he lived in every plenary session during the last four years.

Mother of two children and married to a soldier, who has also been arrested in the framework of this operation, the neighbors of Ana González in Guadiana Street in Parla were surprised on Thursday when they saw a huge police deployment in front of her door. "We thought it had to do with the elections and with the arrival of the minister to a rally," explains a neighbor, "but not with a police operation and less against her," he says.

Meanwhile, in the City Council of Parla they knew since last week that their companion of Consistory had been arrested, but the police hid the reason until Monday everything was discovered. "It is unfortunate that the Paraguayan right has spent four years intoxicating and talking about crime when it turns out that they had it inside their own house. It is a councilor of Vox who has been insulting, lecturing and stigmatizing the immigrant population, "explains in his office the socialist mayor, Ramón Jurado, who aspires to renew mandate. Until the arrest of his number three in Parla, the projections gave Vox an important electoral growth.

Among the neighbors, however, the surprise was partial. "I'm amazed, I thought I could have been arrested for crimes related to dog fighting or money, but I never thought about drug trafficking," says a neighbor who knows the family well, whom she describes as "normal people." As surprised as some residents of Parla seemed Rocío Monasterio, the Vox candidate for the presidency of the Community of Madrid, who learned "through the press" of the news. Precisely Monasterio and the arrested councilor recorded together a video a few days ago in which both walked through the town denouncing the problems of "crime and drug sales" in Parla. After his imprisonment and before spreading the resignation of the councilor to the lists, Monasterio has said: "If what they say is confirmed, I hope he delivers the minutes and presents the resignation." For his part, the councilor of the capital and candidate for mayor, Javier Ortega Smith, has indicated that "if there are responsible, let the full weight of the law fall." The detainee resigned late on Monday to her candidacy for Vox for the City Council of Parla.

Discourse against immigrants

In Parla live 131,000 inhabitants of 121 different nationalities and 23% of the inhabitants are of Moroccan origin, followed by the Chinese population. Although the data of the Ministry of the Interior collect a reduction in the indices of violence, the discourse of security was the trump card of Ana González to grow in the polls in the middle of a close election in which the current mayor of the PSOE would go from 9 to 12 councilors, followed by the Popular Party, that it would get between five and seven, and from Vox, which aspired to reach five. The absolute majority, in 14 councilors, was in a disputed limbo that Ana González could finish decanting on May 28, although not precisely where she intended.
