Intense searches are underway to find six people, including four minors, who disappeared in early May in the Colombian jungle after the crash of the small plane carrying them and which caused the death of the pilot, announced Tuesday the authorities and the airline.
The plane disappeared from radar on May 1 in the middle of flying over the Amazon jungle, in the vicinity of San José del Guaviare, in the department of Caqueta (south), said the civil aviation in a statement specifying that the lifeless body was found Monday "inside the plane".

The "other six occupants, including four minors, were not found in the plane or its surroundings," the statement added. According to Avianline Charter, which operated this scheduled flight, it was the body of the pilot that was found inside the Cessna 206, photos of which the army posted on Twitter. They show the aircraft vertically in the middle of the jungle, its nose crushed to the ground.

Soldiers searching for the survivors, assisted by indigenous people from communities near the crash site and sniffer dogs, discovered a chewed fruit and personal belongings, including a bottle believed to belong to one of the four minors, an 11-month-old baby. "The military forces and all the entities participating in the search remain hopeful and are focusing all their efforts to find alive the other six occupants of the aircraft," says the Civil Aviation.
