Highlights: Interviewed at 20h of TF1 Monday, the head of state returned to the personality traits that are reproached to him by his fellow citizens. The trial against him has been fuelled by opposition for six years. In 2017, Emmanuel Macron, just elected, embarked on a series of reforms carried out at a brisk pace, with a new and sometimes provocative style. An image then sticks to his skin: that of a president somewhat arrogant and sometimes contemptuous of his Fellow citizens. "Contemptuous people are people who don't want to talk with others. These are paving the way for extremes," he said.

Interviewed at 20h of TF1 Monday, the head of state returned to the personality traits that are reproached to him by his fellow citizens. Which are fully associated with its political method.

Years go by, and the band-aid is difficult to take off. Especially since the pension reform, adopted and promulgated in pain in April, has not helped to improve these traits of images among the French. Guest of the 20h of TF1 Monday evening, in a context where the President of the Republic would like to turn the page and calm this social tension, Emmanuel Macron returned to his alleged side "contemptuous", - "adjective that he does not like and that we put in all sauces."

Continuing his reasoning, the head of state "rejected" the term "because we do not go to contact as (he goes) since (he is) engaged in political life, when we have contempt for people." Problem for the president, the French have a rather severe judgment on this aspect. According to an Elabe poll for BFMTV published Tuesday night, 68% of respondents consider that the term "contemptuous" "applies well" to Emmanuel Macron. Of which 38% of "very good", and 30% of "fairly good". In this blackboard, however, a light: the head of state can still rely on a base of 32% of French believing that the adjective applies rather badly. Another consolation prize for the tenant of the Elysee, 63% of his voters in the first round of 2022 refuse this qualifier. Even if 53% of its second round base are of a contrary opinion.

Emmanuel Macron having seen his level of popularity plummet in recent weeks, the President of the Republic took advantage of his bad posture to better defend himself on TF1: "In the position where I am, if I really despised the French people, or our country, I would not try to talk to the collective intelligence and do what is good for the country, I'd think of my apple." The opportunity to deplore the power of "social networks" and "oppositions" that "quickly forge images". "Contemptuous people are people who don't want to talk with others. These are paving the way for extremes." An alert message for all contenders who are already eyeing 2027.
