A large part of the Boulevard Stalingrad, in the port district of Nice, has been cordoned off since 16:30 p.m. The national police intervention group, the Raid, was urgently called to apprehend a potentially armed man holed up in an apartment. A family dispute would be at the origin of the facts, says a police source in Le Figaro, confirming information from France Bleu.
The students of Port-Lympia College were confined to the school for the duration of the intervention, which ended a little after 17:15 p.m. On Twitter, the mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi thanked the police "who arrested the individual holed up at home without incident".
It is not known at this stage whether the respondent was properly armed, or even if he is already known to the police.
More information to come.
