For six days, they will be more than a hundred authors to scour the beautiful cultural places of Marseille: the scenes of La Criée, the alleys of the Mucem, the boards of the conservatory or the library of the Alcazar. Literature and language will be carried high through major interviews, dialogues between writers and literary concerts...

Readings will allow to hear the voices of the great Colette, the unclassifiable Fernando Pessoa or the prodigious author of the Baron perché, Italo Calvino, but also those of singers who have chosen the pen to express themselves and who are not afraid to evoke love, sex and eroticism ... It is all this the magic of the event that is imposing itself in the French editorial landscape: Oh les beaux jours! And for that, you need beautiful people. More than 100 authors and artists will be invited for 55 meetings, readings and shows that will animate the Phocaean city from May 24 to 29.

Impossible to list all the guests. Among them: the last winner of the Prix Goncourt with Vivre vite, Brigitte Giraud. She will not come alone, she has chosen to invite authors whose notoriety is not yet up to their talent: Didier Castino, who has just published a novel about a Marseille figure of boxing (Boxer as Gratien, see Le Figaro littéraire of May 4) and Nine Antico, illustrator, director and author of committed comics. The interview will be conducted by Olivia Gesbert.

The organizers recall that it has already been seven years that literature takes up residence in Marseille when the sunny days return. For the weather, we do not know, but for the quality of the guests, no doubt Marseille will be for these few days, at least, the capital of literary beauty. Just take a look at the program.

Meeting between Daniel Pennac and Thomas Fersen

In addition to the invitation to Brigitte Giraud, another Prix Goncourt will be present, Hervé Le Tellier, also president of Oulipo, the famous "Potential Literature Opener" (Calvino was a great Oulipian); Le Tellier will be accompanied by two Medici prizes, Yannick Haenel and Emmanuelle Bayamack-Tam. These writers of today, but also Italo Calvino, a great Italian author who has passed away, will try to make us penetrate their small literature factory, discover what shapes their writing, their language and nourishes the richness of their universes. These will be real masterclasses.

Eric Fottorino has written a fable that cannot leave anyone indifferent: The Catch of the Day, which raises a vision of migrants of rare power. It is a play that was performed at the Théâtre du Rond-Point and that Marseille will be able to discover.

The French language comes from everywhere, as we know. Sabyl Ghoussoub, Goncourt of high school students, and Xavier Le Clerc, born in Algeria, probe, with conviction and emotion, their family memory torn between two countries, Lebanon for Ghoussoub, and Algeria for Le Clerc who had published his first novel under the name Hamid Aït Taleb. And Polina Panassenko, author of Holding Your Tongue, Femina of High School Students, will tell how she keeps her language balanced between Russian and French. These three authors who have recently entered literature are fascinating.

The family, again, will be a strong subject of the demonstration. And here too, we invited beautiful people. Oh the sunny days! brings together, excuse the little two virtuosos of language and language Daniel Pennac and Thomas Fersen. The organizers warn: it could well be that the first interviews the second... The meeting will be worth the detour...

The program is incredibly rich (Olivier Adam, Barbara Carlotti, Jeanne Cherhal, Véronique Ovaldé, Christophe Ono-dit-Biot...). It would be a shame to miss out.
