Highlights: From May 18 to 21, 2023, the 46th Volksfest will take place in Rudelzhausen. Even the beer tasting in the Bräustüberl was promising these days. Only a few days left, it's that time again: From May 18 to 21, 2023, the 46th Volksfest will take place in Rudelzhausen. The program has a lot to offer.

Rudelzhausen – Father's Day is a folk festival day: At least in Rudelzhausen, when next Thursday for the 46th time the round of the big tent festivals of the Hallertau begins. Even the beer tasting in the Bräustüberl was promising these days, as the makers of the folk festival around Wieland Scheer tasted the barley juice of the castle brewery. "A super brew," was Scheer's praise to master brewer Stefan Ebensperger:

"Almost too good again". An allusion to last year's four-day festival, which experienced such a rush on Saturday that even the beer ran out for a short time because the visitors liked it so much. But that won't happen this year, both sides assured, which Stefan Ebensperger underpinned: "Otherwise I'll pay 100 measures personally."

Sounds from swamp beaver to hopfareisser

Nevertheless, the danger is great, because the makers of TSV have once again spiced up the 2023 folk festival. For example, the marquee was enlarged by a beer garden area and the bar area was expanded. It starts on Father's Day at 9.30 a.m. with a memorial mass in the parish church, after the stand concert we go to the tent to the sounds of the Schlossberg musicians and the Swamp Biber band. Once again, there will be numerous clubs with flags, as well as the political celebrities who follow the tapping at close range in the election year. Whether Wieland Scheer will reach for the beer mallet again or TSV chairman Sigi Grimm remained a secret at the beer tasting. In any case, it will be atmospheric on the entire Father's Day, which the Hopfareisser from Nandlstadt will end in the evening.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

There will be a highlight on Friday. Reason: For the senior citizens' afternoon, which is of course open to all visitors, the well-known "Brettl-Spitzen" around presenter Jürgen Kirner will give a two-hour guest performance in the marquee from 12 noon. This was made possible by the sponsor of the Altennachmittag, the former TSV Volksfest founder Karl Schapfl. From 14 p.m. to 18 p.m., the folklore continues, guaranteed by "Powerziach" Martin Kraft with music and singing. On Friday evening, the band Tetrapack will set the mood.

Saturday starts at 15 p.m. with the "Afternoon of Small Prizes", before the band HighHaufa causes a sensation from 18 p.m. The program also includes the raffle of several beer barrels by Konrad Weiher. For the finale on Sunday, there will be festivities with lunch from 10 a.m. and a classic car show on the festival grounds. The musical finale will be provided by the Schlossberg musicians.
