Two free-roaming shepherd dogs killed the cat of a senior citizen from Krumbach on Monday evening. The police are now investigating the owner for inappropriate husbandry.
Krumbach – After an emergency call on Monday evening (15 May), police forces moved out in Krumbach. The reason was two free-roaming shepherd dogs. The two shepherd dogs chased and killed the cat of an 83-year-old woman from the district of Günzburg, said a police spokesman.

Police arrest dogs: suspicion of inappropriate husbandry
A 29-year-old eyewitness made the emergency call on Monday evening. Shortly thereafter, police officers found the two shepherd dogs in a backyard in Krumbach and arrested them, police reported. The officers are now investigating the owner of the two dogs with the help of a witness. "He is expected to be charged under the Animal Welfare Act."

The owner of the shepherd dogs is suspected of not having kept the two animals in a species-appropriate manner. According to the police, abuses in the husbandry have already been identified and reported to the responsible veterinary office.
