As every year, Vranken-Pommery celebrates contemporary art in Reims. For 20 years, the "Experiences" have been invited into the maze of cellars of this illustrious champagne house. Since 2003, the works are installed in the park of the estate, in the cellars and especially in the cellars. You have to go thirty meters underground, in the maze of chalk pits where thousands of bottles of champagne rest.
The installations are revealed at the whim of obscure galleries. The one that brought art to Pommery recalls the meaning of this innovation. Because exhibiting works is, here, a challenge with a humidity level of around 90%. "We created something that did not exist," recalls Nathalie Vranken, administrator in charge of patronage Vranken-Pommery Monopole We are obliged to produce the works, they are created in situ and are imagined by the artists to cope with the extreme conditions in the cellar. And for this anniversary, Pommery has imagined an exhibition in the cellar called "Forever". But that's not all. "Forever Brut" also moved to the Cellier Pompadour, a former storage site for barrels and barrels.
Atypical staging
Here takes place an exhibition dedicated to the creation of the first champagne Brut by Mrs. Pommery in 1874 and enriched by works of young artists like the Argentine Manuel Ameztoy. Between sculpture and architecture, his woven textile installation floats in the vast Cellier. As for the Frenchartist Julien Salaud, it is the famous blue Pommery that he magnifies thanks to a system of "black light" and his work called "Pommery Etoiles". The third part of this new "saga" 2023 continues at the Villa Demoiselle accessible by crossing the main road artery that runs along the Maison Pommery.

This jewel of Art Nouveau celebrates its 15th anniversary of opening to the public. A new staging of this atypical place has been imagined in partnership with the Museum of Fine Arts of Reims. Under construction until 2025, the construction of the latter must officially begin next Monday (22.05), with the laying of the first stone.
