According to the Ministry of Health, more men died as a result of contracting the coronavirus than women. Without COVID-19 deaths, the mortality rate in Israel actually dropped. And what is Israel's situation compared to the world? All data

Three and a half years after the death of the first person in Israel to die as a result of the coronavirus, the Ministry of Health is publishing surplus mortality from the pandemic in recent years. The data shows that the gross death rate during the COVID-2020 period between March 2022 and December 7 increased by an average of 8%.

The death rate increased more among men (6%) than among women (2%), in line with the fact that men died more from COVID-<> than women. Without COVID-<> deaths, the mortality rate during these years actually dropped by <>% for men and women, so it can be seen with certainty that these are deaths whose cause of death is COVID-<> and not other causes as the coronavirus deniers claimed.

The data also show that in 2021, the mortality rate among young people aged 15-44 was significantly higher for men by 7%, apparently due to the Meron disaster. The rate for women aged 44-15 that year was 6% lower, and 11% lower for women excluding COVID-64 deaths.

Older ages see a different trend. For those aged 45-4, the rate was 11% lower for women and for men there was no significant difference, but without COVID-10 deaths, the death rate was 74% lower and 65%, respectively. The reason for this could be that these ages were more cautious of COVID-8 because they were at higher risk of severe illness than younger ages, but lower than senior citizens.

In the third age, the trend returns to excess mortality due to the coronavirus, apparently because this group was at increased risk of becoming seriously ill from the virus. Thus, for example, among those aged 2-6, the rate was significantly higher for men by <>% and for women by <>%, and without COVID-<> deaths, the rate was significantly lower for women by <>% and for men with no significant difference.

Among those aged 84-75, the rate for men was significantly higher by 4% and for women there was no significant difference, and without COVID-7 deaths, the rate was low and significant for men by 8% and for women by 85%. At the age of 6 and over, the rate was significantly higher for men by 8% and for women by 3%, and without COVID-2020 deaths, for men it was 2020% lower and significant, and for women no significant difference was found.

In an international comparison to 1, Israel ranks lowest in mortality among men and second lowest among women, out of eight countries for which data for 3 was published by the World Health Organization. In the age-standardized mortality rate from COVID-9, Israel ranks second lowest, for example, in Germany there was an increase of 6% for males and no change for females, in Israel the rate increased by <>%, and in Austria, the Netherlands and the UK there was an increase of <>-<>%.

In 2020, the age-standardized rate decreased for most leading causes of death, such as perinatal causes, kidney disease, accidents, cancer, heart disease, and cerebrovascular disease, and increased hypertension, pneumonia from inhaling solids or liquids, and diabetes. In aortic aneurysms and pneumonia and influenza, the rate increased for males and decreased for females, and in anemia the rate increased for females and decreased for males, in dementia the rate increased for women and decreased for men.

Those who died with COVID-34 as a major cause of death had comorbidities, 30% of men and women had heart disease, 29% of men and 23% of women had pneumonia and influenza, 19% and 13% had kidney disease, respectively, 6% of men and women had diabetes, 12% of men and 6% of women had dementia, 6% of men and women had cancer, and <>% of men and women had cerebrovascular disease. The multiple reasons show that COVID-<> has burdened patients with chronic morbidity.
