Highlights: Rabbi Shmuley Boteach: "The color of each one is like the shade of our father" He says that each person has a place in the world where he or she is to be corrected. "The root of their work is the work of their father," he says, "and this is the depth that you can find in your father's work" The Torah portion is called "The Order of the Tribes of Israel," and is read on the third day of the Shabbat.

Just before we read the portion in the desert on Shabbat, Rabbi Josiah Pinto explained in his lesson that the order of the tribes in the desert can also be learned about our daily lives. The Rebbe's Full Words Inside

This coming Shabbat, we will read in the synagogue the portion of Bamidbar in which the Torah expands on the journey of the tribes of Israel in the desert. Each tribe had a flag, as the Torah wrote: "Whoever has his flag when you come to the house of their forefathers, the children of Israel will camp on the other side around the tent of Moed."

Rebbe Rabbi Josiah Pinto explained in his lesson that from the Order of the Tribes in the Desert we can also learn about our daily lives and that every person has a place where he needs to make his correction and influence in the world.

Rabbi Pinto said in his shiur:

Quoted in Rashi, every flag will have a letter from a painted map hanging on it, the color of the other is not the color of the other. The color of each one is like the shade of our father, which is fixed in the sense, and from this each will know his flag. Another thing about the signs to their ancestral home is the sign given to them by their father Jacob when they carried him from Egypt, which says, "And his sons will do so to him when he fasts" (Gen 50:12). Judah and Issachar and Zevulun will bear him from the East, and Reuven and Shimon and Gad from the South, etc., as it is worthwhile in the condolence (12, this portion) A.C. And here we must understand the whole thing: the flags that each needed a different color, in a different way as the color of the breastplate.

And Jacob commanded his sons how to lift up his bed, what did Nafka appoint how everyone would lift, with enthusiasm, sorrow or devotion, at the funeral of Jacob our father everyone jumped into Jacob's closet, touched the coffin and lifted the coffin, why did Jacob command that everyone in his place, in his color, in his shape and in his place had to give? Everyone, however they want and what they want, will lift Yaakov's coffin, why did our forefather Jacob decide for them how and what they would lift the coffin?

And so it is in the desert, why did everyone have to stand in his place with his flag and his color, what is the matter that this is how the Israelites had to be in the desert?

Rather, it is possible to interpret and say a great element: the Mishnah says (Avot 1:2) about three things: the world stands, about the Torah and about work, and about charity. Every Jew of the Jewish people has the root of his correction in the world, there is a person whose main work is Torah and who has good talents, and G-d invites him a place to beat up Torah. There is a person whose essence is charity, and he is blessed with a large fortune so that he can complete what he lacks. Every person, G-d brings him with his toolbox, with the tools that suit him to correct what he needs to fix in this world.

And here, too, are the flags that God commanded the Israelites, and the color that God commanded to be in the flag, also according to the correction that God created for each tribe, and created for each and every person to correct in his life. Therefore, our forefather Jacob arranged for the tribes of YHH to stand in what spirit they would stand, because each spirit has a special virtue as stated in the Gemara (Baba Batra 25:) He who wishes Hakim Yidrim, and who enriches Yitzpin, and who sets a table in the north and a menorah in the south, and who called a row in the west,

named after Jacob, our forefather, knew the root of their souls, and arranged each of them on the spirit that corresponds to his root, placed each of them in the place where the root of his work and influence was. And it is known that the sons, in their work, raise their father in heaven from one level to another, and this is the depth that you say Kaddish that raises his father, as is presented in the Shulchan Aruch. Thus we found in the holy Rebbe (Ketubot 133.) who, at the time of his death, told his sons that the time had come for him to try for him, and as it is written in the Gemara (Sanhedrin Kad.), a son credits a father. And this is what Jacob told his sons in what spirit they would carry him, who wrote down to each of his sons what his main work was.
