While the executive is trying to renew contact with the unions, received Tuesday and Wednesday at Matignon by Elisabeth Borne, it can rely on the good unemployment figures, the lowest since 1982. Never seen before.
Estimated at 7.1% in the first quarter of 2023, according to INSEE data published Wednesday, unemployment, as defined by the International Labour Office (ILO), has remained "stable" over the last three months. But, after a downward change in estimates in the fourth quarter of 2022, its rate fell from 7.2% to 7.1% of the labor force. A downward adjustment that allows it to reach its lowest level in forty years.
