"I feel like a ghost, a survivor": Michel Drucker speaks for the first time since his heart surgery

The 80-year-old host, back home after several weeks of hospitalization, confided in Pascal Praud Thursday on RTL. He is optimistic about returning to France Télévisions in September.


Hospitalized twice since the beginning of February at the Georges-Pompidou European Hospital in Paris, Michel Drucker has only recently returned home. Initially, the host of France Télévisions had to pass some medical check-ups, after a big outbreak of fever, and resume his activities after a fortnight. "I have a warrior's mind," he told the Midi Libre from his hospital room. This medical check-up followed his operation for infective endocarditis of the mitral valve of the heart performed in September 2020.

At the end of February, Michel Drucker had returned home, his return in "Vive dimanche" on France 3 was finally announced for mid-April. "Michel is fine, he needs to rest after these weeks of trying hospitalization. But he is already actively preparing his return," Stéphane Sitbon-Gomez, director of antennas and programs at France Télévisions, told Le Parisien / Aujourd'hui en France.
