Munich – When Ludwig Prince of Bavaria (40) and his Sophie-Alexandra Evekink (32) step down the aisle in the festively decorated Theatinerkirche next Saturday (20 May), they have long been husband and wife before the law! Both have already tied the knot on December 24, 2022 and confirmed their connection with their signatures - without much fuss, in the smallest circle at Kaltenberg Castle, the family estate with Luitpold of Bavaria, the father of Prince Ludwig.
Royal wedding on Saturday: Prince Ludwig of Bavaria and Sophie-Alexandra Evekink get married
At the request of tz, the ducal administration confirmed the secret wedding ceremony as follows: "The civil wedding took place on 24 December last year, at Prince Ludwig's parents at Kaltenberg Castle. The mayor of Geltendorf performed the wedding ceremony. It was a small celebration in traditional costume, only with the parents of the two." And a truly special date – the wedding day at Christmas can hardly ever be forgotten.

Child of Luitpold of Bavaria and wife Princess Beatrix: Wedding feast in the Theatinerkirche and Nymphenburg Palace
Prince Ludwig of Bavaria is one of five children of Luitpold of Bavaria and his wife, Princess Beatrix, who run the Kaltenberg Castle Brewery and, since 2011, the Nymphenburg Porcelain Manufactory. Of course, Luitpold and Beatrix will also be there on Saturday, when shortly before ten o'clock in the morning the Archbishop of Munich and Freising, Reinhard Cardinal Marx, will welcome the bride in front of the church.
The festive service is to last one and a half hours, and the St. Nicholas Mass by Joseph Haydn will be performed. At half past twelve, the couple – newly married before God – wants to show themselves. The house assured that onlookers will be able to catch a glimpse of the couple. After the wedding, the head of the family, Duke Franz of Bavaria (89), invites you to a reception in the Stone Hall in Nymphenburg Palace.
