Gone is the party of the semifinals of the Champions League. While on June 10 in Istanbul, Lautaro Martínez, Joaquín Correa and Valentín Carboni with Inter or Julián Álvarez and Máximo Perrone with Manchester City will be able to own the Orejona, there is another European competition that involves several Argentines, the Europa League.
On the one hand, they are going to face Sevilla and Juventus in Spain. In the first leg of the semifinal, the match ended tied 1-1, so there is no possible forecast for the second game, although the climate in the Andalusian land is one of expectation and confidence in obtaining a victory to qualify for the final.
The Spanish team, in addition to being the club that won the Europa League the most times (6 titles), is also the team that presents the most Argentines in the contest: Erik Lamela, Lucas Ocampos, Marcos Acuña, Gonzalo Montiel and Papu Gómez, the latter three were part of the squad that conquered the third star in the Qatar World Cup.
On the other hand, the Vecchia Signora appears, where four Argentine footballers compete, among them, two world champions: Leandro Paredes and Ángel Di María. The remaining two are Matías Soulé (affected with the National Team in the U20 World Cup) and the Cordovan Enzo Barrenechea.
The other semi-final will be held in Germany. Bayern Leverkusen will face Roma in search of getting the ticket to the final. The Italian team has a slight advantage since they won the first match 1-0, however, now, the German team will try to assert their location to reverse that score.
In this match, two other world champions will face each other; Exequiel Palacios, with the Bayern shirt, and Paulo Dybala, the great star of Mourinho's team.
It should be noted that the final of the European event will be played on Wednesday, May 31 from 16 pm at the Puskas Arena in Budapest, Hungary.
