The labor union rejects the electoral promise of the candidates to carry out a labor reform.

The CGT issued in the last hours a harsh statement against the presidential candidates Javier Milei, Patricia Bullrich and José Luis Espert for their electoral and political proposals "that put at risk the fundamental structure of labor, social and social security rights in force" in Argentina.

The dispatch of the labor federation, entitled "In defense of Social Security, Labor Rights and Social Rights of all Argentines," emphasizes the labor reform that these candidates promise to promote if they win the elections.

In the document, the CGT speaks of "provocative and retrograde proposals, which light an alarm light on the democratic and peaceful coexistence of our community" and says that they are "executed by those who, shielded by false promises of modernization, present old recipes that have already failed."

These recipes, they list, are "the arbitrary and massive dismissal of workers, cuts in benefits and pensions in the pension system of our elderly, the privatization of public assets that only enables large private businesses, alienating the wealth of our country, and an interested scrapping of the health system that would only deteriorate current medical benefits and coverage." among other actions.

"And all this in the midst of explicit threats to violate labor rights and constitutional guarantees," says the workers' union.

Finally, it warns that the CGT "is not willing to dialogue with those who promote these proposals" and reaffirms "that all these initiatives collide head-on" with the iron determination to "defend work as an essential social value for development and trade union organizations as the main tool for coexistence and growth with equity."

The statement comes the signature of the National Board of Directors headed by Héctor Daer, Carlos Acuña and Pablo Moyano.

At the beginning of May, Bullrich, in his internal fight with Horacio Rodríguez Larreta in the PRO, sought to differentiate himself and assured that if he wins he will promote a labor reform.

The former security minister was asked in a dialogue with Radio Rivadavia about the confidential meeting that the head of the Buenos Aires government held with members of the CGT in which the also aspiring to the Casa Rosada would have promised the trade unionists that he will not promote a labor reform.

"I don't know if what the CGT let go (is true), but I didn't see Larreta denying it either. It is very important to be clear with the citizens," Bullrich said and provided details of what his reform would be because, he said, he has "no doubt that Argentina needs a labor reform."

Bullrich indicated that they plan modifications in the monotribute. "We are going to make a very strong change in the monotribute. We are going to make it cheap and easy so that people should invoice with a simple overalls, with responsible scales, "he explained.

From the larretismo, later, they complained because they assure that the Head of Government of Buenos Aires also promotes a labor reform and that he said it several times. However, the CGT managed to install the version that at that meeting Larreta promised them the opposite. The pre-candidate said before that he will "adapt, modernize the labor system adapting it to a changing world ...".

Milei, meanwhile, in his electoral platform, proposes the reduction of "employers' charges on work"; the elimination of "compensation without cause", to be replaced by a system of "unemployment insurance" and also "a pension reform to cut state spending on retirements and pensions", "encouraging a system of private capitalization", together with a "program of voluntary retirements and shrinking of the State".

The libertarian also proposes "the profound reform of the health system, with the impulse of the private sector, free competition among companies in the sector, a reform of the educational system and the expansion of a non-invasive security system for the population and the elimination of co-participation."
