Mayor Inge Heiler announced a transparent and fair building land policy at the Egmatingen Citizens' Assembly.

Egmating – The municipality of Egmating is growing slowly but steadily. This means that free living space fills up quickly. However, because the municipality has hardly any significant land reserves of its own, basic regulations for transparent and fair building land development are to be made in Egmating. The municipal council will continue to deal with this, Mayor Inge Heiler announced at the citizens' meeting. After all, the next generation needs space. After all, last year there were almost 30 births in the community and about 20 marriages.

Childcare places are also in great demand in Egmating

Heiler presented important key data of the municipality and repeatedly thanked all those who work for the community in Egmating. In particular, the staff of the daycare centers was highlighted and presented in the presentation with photos. This should be a recognizable sign of special appreciation. In Egmating it is no different than in other communities. The childcare places are in great demand. "The spaces aren't the problem," Heiler said. But sometimes there is a lack of staff. "Ten host children from the surrounding communities are on the waiting list." In some cases, the care had to be carried out within the framework of an emergency group. In September, the capacity will be increased to 50 seats.

There was spontaneous applause for the voluntary work of the library ladies and, above all, the fire brigades of Münster and Egmating. The necessary procurements are "money well spent," Heiler said. "We are glad that we are so well positioned here," the mayor admitted. The conflicts over the fire station in Münster have now been resolved as far as possible. The botched construction had caused national media coverage. Now we are looking ahead. The firefighters themselves actively helped with the conversion. Finally, the grand inauguration ceremony is scheduled for July 2nd. The fact that the fire station also houses a funeral hall is "a unique selling point in the district," Heiler said.

The number of farms has declined

In Egmating, an impressive number of 317 businesses are registered. There have been more before, but the Corona pandemic has taken a heavy toll on one or the other company. Nevertheless, the municipality has a budget with a total volume of nine million euros. The contribution to the capital budget amounted to 660,000 euros in the past financial year. On the other hand, however, there is a district levy of almost 1.3 million euros. A ray of hope: The trade tax "was more than we thought". A major item among the investments was the acquisition of land for compensation areas. They are intended for an ecopoint account. "That's why we struck" and acquired a meadow, Heiler reports. This means that there is scope for further construction measures in the municipality.

A village shop is to be built in the Raiffeisen building. This is the wish that the municipality wants to fulfill, especially with the help of an initiative from citizens. The posters for the previous information evening were still hanging in the hall of the parish hall. "I stand behind this idea," said the mayor. A village shop not only serves to supply the population, but is also a social meeting place.

Progress has also been made in the "Höhenkirchener Forst" wind energy project. "This is a purely citizen project and a good thing." A little luxury on the side: The municipality of Egmating has a youth room, but obviously no young people who want to use it for events or meetings about twice a month. Incidentally, we are also looking for election workers to count the votes on October 8 on the evening after the state election. Snacks, snacks and drinks are donated by the municipality, healers encouraged the citizens to participate.
