Münsing – In a fire in the municipality of Münsing (Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district), the roof truss of a residential building went up in flames on the night of Father's Day. According to the police's initial estimate, the property damage amounts to at least 250,000 euros.
Flame inferno on Father's Day - Two firefighters injured in operation in Münsing
Stefan Kießkalt, spokesman for the district fire inspection, draws an initial balance: At 1.46 a.m. on Thursday, the sirens and radio signal receivers of the fire brigades howled due to the fire in a residential building in Münsing. A fire was reported in a building that spreads from the ground floor over the façade into the roof. When the fire brigade arrived, the report was confirmed. The fire had already spread to the roof truss.
The head of operations, district fire chief Manuel Ridinger, immediately had operational sections formed and led an extinguishing attack via two turntable ladders as well as an external attack with a C-pipe. In addition, a squad equipped with breathing apparatus fought against the flames in the so-called interior attack. However, the destruction of the attic apartment and the burning out of the roof truss could no longer be fully prevented.
During extinguishing work – A firefighter slightly injured
After about two hours, according to Kießkalt, "fire out" could be reported and the last embers were extinguished. Subsequently, safety measures were carried out on the building and an emergency roof was installed. During the extinguishing work, a firefighter was slightly injured, the rescue service brought him, according to Kießkalt, for detailed clarification in a surrounding hospital. According to information from our newspaper, the firefighter suffered a capsule injury. Three residents of the apartment building were examined and cared for on site by the emergency services. One of them had tried to extinguish the fire himself – the painful consequence was a burn to his hand.
The operation went smoothly and professionally, we acted as a single fire brigade.
