With a grand kick-off, guests of honour and, above all, many citizens, the Fraunberg firefighters started the five-day celebrations on the occasion of their 150th anniversary on Wednesday evening.

Fraunberg – At 17 p.m., the festival committee laid a memorial wreath for the deceased members of the association to the words and prayers of Deacon Christian Pastötter. Subsequently, patron and mayor Hans Wiesmaier confidently tapped the 50-liter keg of free beer he had donated at the community center with three strokes in good weather.

Chairman Georg Atzberger was enthusiastic: "The fire brigade has been planning for this day for two years. To this day, the festival committee has implemented everything intensively and perfectly." Now he is happy that it is finally starting. He thanked all those involved for their great commitment and the supportive local companies. He thanked the von Fraunberg family for their use of the festival grounds. During the five days, "there is guaranteed to be something for everyone, for a nice togetherness". Mayor Wiesmaier praised the firefighters, who created a wonderful village community with the festival. "We have to hold out for five days now," he encouraged the citizens.

Afterwards, led by musician Matthias Raupach on the accordion and his children Sophia and Benedikt, they moved to the Festhalle to the sports grounds, where there was a lot of applause. In the redecorated riding hall, an exciting mudflat tournament with 56 couples took place at the start of the festivities. The main prize (table in the Weißbräuzelt at the Erdinger Herbstfest for ten people including 20 masses and ten chickens) was won by the citizens of the municipality Christl Egger and Andrea Angermaier. The 2nd prize, two tickets for the GOP Variety Theatre in Munich including a menu, went to Peter Rasthofer and Sigi Windl. The 100 euros for third place went to Franz Angermaier (Karrer) from Fraunberg with his wife Resi. Fourth place, or 75 euros, went to contractors Josef Käsmaier senior and junior.

On Ascension Day there was a big meeting of the district firecrackers in the afternoon, followed by a gritty Father's Day celebration with the Moosrandmusi. On Friday, at 13 p.m., the senior citizens' afternoon for the citizens of the municipality begins, organized by the district. From 18 p.m. there will be a wine festival with the party band Groove Garage and a large bar.

On Saturday from 19 p.m., the well-known Lower Bavarian joke cabaret artist Fonse Doppelhammer will provide laughter. And for the finale on Sunday, the 17 clubs and Co. will move to the festive service at 10 a.m. with Pastor Richard Greul and Deacon Pastötter at the community center after the white sausage dinner. At lunch in the Festhalle there will be speeches and handing over of the commemorative gifts. For entertainment, the Wartenberger Marktkapelle plays.
