Jerusalem Day (Gal Hillali)

Jerusalem Day events will take place today (Thursday) and tomorrow throughout the city. Thousands of police officers have been deployed in the area to secure the ceremonies and marches. In addition, roads will be blocked and there may be changes in light rail activity. Among other things, there will be the traditional flag march - which will take place along the same route as last year, state ceremonies on Mount Herzl and Ammunition Hill, night events and more.

Fake news was spread on the Palestinian social networks about the route of the planned flag parade. There were also claims of changing the status quo on the Temple Mount. The defense establishment does not rule out the possibility of launching rockets from the Gaza Strip at Israel. The level of vigilance of the forces deployed in the West Bank and the Jerusalem envelope has increased against the background of the fear of lone terrorists.
