"The crew then used the alternative landing gear extension to extend the landing gear and set off about 20 minutes later for a safe landing on runway 24L," the portal described the further course of the flight. The Lufthansa spokesman also reiterated to Merkur.de of IPPEN. MEDIA: "Safety on board was not compromised at any time."

Despite the problems with the landing gear, no one was injured, and all passengers were able to leave the aircraft unharmed. There, on Tuesday (May 16), an "inspection and repair by the team of technicians was carried out," the Lufthansa spokesman said. However, "the return flight LH475 unfortunately had to be cancelled". Lufthansa, which recently hired thousands of new workers, used an Airbus A350-900 for the flight from Munich to Montreal. The long-haul aircraft, equipped with two engines, can accommodate up to 440 passengers. According to Lufthansa's homepage, a total of 17 aircraft of this type are currently (as of May 2023, 21) part of the fleet of Germany's largest airline.
