2023-05-18T03:19:44.381Z

Highlights: Eight Maltese puppies were found during a police check in Würzburg. They are now looking for a new home, but must first be vaccinated against rabies. Anyone who can meet these conditions is welcome to report to the animal shelter very quickly. The shelter can be reached on 0931 84324; the new owner must have a fenced garden or yard, and no other pets. For the "mental well-being of puppies," new owners must meet these criteria too.

According to the Würzburg animal shelter, they are now "all over the hill": After arduous weeks, eight puppies are looking for a new home.

Würzburg – The employees have done everything possible to get fit again. The Würzburg animal shelter informs about "eight poor little smuggled puppies" that have been in the care of the keepers for three weeks – since then "we have been pampering what we can," writes the shelter in a Facebook post on May 9. It is said that they would presumably be Maltese puppies. They are between five and nine weeks old – they have all already experienced a lot: During a police check, officers became aware of them. Now they are looking for a new home.

Eight puppies in search of a new home: In the meantime, they are "all over the hill"

After the police discovery, the veterinary office took care of the dogs. Shortly thereafter, the Würzburg animal shelter took care of the health of the eight puppies. Three weeks later, they had reached the point: the animals are "all out of the woods". The search for a new home is ongoing. For potential owners, however, there are numerous conditions to meet.

For the "mental well-being of puppies": New owners must meet these criteria

Last but not least, it is about the "mental well-being of the puppies," writes the shelter on Facebook. In consultation with the veterinary office, they agreed to find a new home for the dogs in the near future. "Actually, they should still remain in quarantine," but taking into account "some strict regulations," the search could begin earlier.

Before this happens, all puppies must undergo a rabies vaccination (followed by quarantine for three weeks). The quarantine period could then already be the first time in a new home. For potential new owners of the dogs, it is important to note that any contact with other animals is prohibited during this time. Nor are they allowed to leave the property of the house.

Further conditions: The new home should be in the district of Würzburg and have a fenced garden or yard. The new owner should not have any other pets – if they do, they should also be vaccinated against rabies. There are a handful of criteria that determine the search for a new home for the puppies. Anyone who can meet these requirements "is now very welcome to report to the shelter very quickly". The Würzburg animal shelter can be reached on 0931 84324.
