The Tel Aviv District Attorney's Office today (Thursday) filed an indictment against Avraham (Avi) Hailo, a 23-year-old resident of Holon, for the murder of Yossi Beilin, a 22-year-old man. According to the indictment, Hailo stabbed Beilin to death during a fight that developed between them about three weeks ago. Hailo is charged with murder and obstruction of justice.
According to the indictment, Hailo came with some of his friends to the public park on Cairo Martyrs Street in Holon, where Beilin was sitting at the time. There had been a previous dispute between the two, so Hailo turned to Beilin and asked him to step aside to talk, the two talked and returned to their seats.

However, later in the evening, according to the indictment, an exchange broke out between the two and a fight ensued. During the attack, Beilin punched Hailo in the face and pepper-sprayed him. Hailo responded by pulling out a sharp object and stabbing Beilin in the upper body, and then left with his friends. Beilin, who collapsed following the injury, was evacuated by MDA staff to Wolfson Hospital in the city, where he was pronounced dead.
The indictment also states that following the incident, Hailo tried to flee from the authorities and obstruct the police investigation into the incident. Hailo took a taxi to Eilat, where he stayed at the hotel until he was arrested the next day.
Attorney Lilach Katz, who filed the indictment, stated in the arrest request that "whatever the conflict between the respondent and the deceased, there is no justification for stabbing the deceased and cutting off his life. As stated, after the stabbing, the respondent left the scene without being interested in the deceased's condition and the consequences of his actions."
