A man was shot and killed Thursday night in the village of Yassif in the Western Galilee, and another man was seriously wounded. Haidan intensive care teams gave the two men initial medical treatment and evacuated them to the Galilee Medical Center, where the former was pronounced dead.
Lavala! It was learned that one of the men who was shot, both in their twenties, was the son of the deputy head of the Kfar Yassif local council. At the same time, police forces arrived at the scene and opened an investigation into the incident, along with searching for the perpetrators of the shooting.
Following the announcement of the death of the young man from Kfar Yassif, the Abraham Initiatives organization reported that 80 Arabs had lost their lives since the beginning of the year in circumstances related to violence and crime. By comparison, in the same period last year, the number of shooting victims was 30.

Yesterday, Yusef Abu Ghanim, a 60-year-old resident of Lod, was shot dead near the city's central bus station. Abu Ghanem was apparently on his way to pray at the mosque when he was shot. An MDA team called to the scene gave him medical treatment and critically evacuated him to Shamir-Assaf Harofeh Hospital while performing CPR. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. His nephew, it should be noted, was murdered about a month ago on Ben Yehuda Street in the city.
Police later opened an investigation into the incident. Meanwhile, Lod police began searching the area for the shooters. According to the police statement, the background is likely criminal.
