The Last Generation announces that it will violate the superglue ban of the city of Munich tomorrow, Saturday morning, and go to Marienplatz.

Munich – Despite a ban on the transport of superglue imposed by the city of Munich, the "Last Generation" wants to go to Marienplatz tomorrow, Saturday morning. This is what the activists announced in a press release. According to the letter, the action will start on Saturday, May 20, at 10:30 a.m. To this end, the climate adhesives announce: "There will be tubes of superglue in their possession."

Climate glue demonstrate at Marienplatz: Activists ignore the city's ban on superglue

This has a special background: Last year, the city of Munich banned seven people from carrying and using superglues and similar adhesives in the city area. According to the district administration department, this is a time-limited, preventive measure.

For the climate adhesives, this means that if you have superglue in your pocket, you have to pay 1000 euros. In the case of Wolfgang M., a member of the "Last Generation", this was already the case in March. For him, therefore, the so-called penalty payment was increased to 2000 euros.

But the activists are not deterred by this. They even want to deliberately break the ban on Saturday. "We can no longer accept that Article 20a for the protection of natural resources is knowingly disregarded," says Wolfgang M., according to the press release.

"The government in Bavaria must also position itself here, which is why today we are breaking the ban on wearing superglue imposed on us to draw attention to this grievance." Thus, the activist accepts a penalty payment of 2000 euros for the action at Marienplatz.

The Bavarian government prefers to deal with illegally carried superglue instead of dealing with the real dangers of its citizens, it continues. The "Last Generation" calls on the federal government to convene a social council.

According to the activists, it does not fulfill its constitutional duty to protect livelihoods, freedom and democracy.
