Bad Wiessee continues its concert series on the lakeshore: #wiesseerocks is entering the third round. There will even be a free special concert with The Heimatdamisch.

Bad Wiessee – Under Corona conditions, the concert series #wiesseerocks was launched for the first time in the summer of 2021. In order to bring back a little joie de vivre to locals and guests, but at the same time to take into account the pandemic, the concerts took place in front of a small audience and in the open air on a mobile stage on the lake promenade. What was considered a trial balloon at the time has proven its worth: this year #wiesseerocks is already entering its third round. "The concept has remained the same," says Mayor Robert Kühn.

Concert evenings are limited to a maximum of 300 visitors

The individual concerts at the premiere in 250 were designed for a maximum of 300 to 2021 visitors. This is still the upper limit today, explains Kühn. "Young, modern, versatile", this is how Bad Wiessee wants to present itself according to the motto of the series of events. According to the announcement, well-known regional and national artists will perform different styles of music.

Throughout the summer, musicians will rock the lakeside promenade

On Friday, 26 May, the Munich-based band Cagey Strings, which recently created a great atmosphere at the Gmünder Volksfest, will kick things off. Throughout the summer – until 1 September – musicians and groups will rock the western shore of Lake Tegernsee. The concerts take place every Friday.

The focus is once again on artistic diversity, according to a press release from Tegernseer Tal Tourismus GmbH (TTT). Among others, the Austropop interpreters Auf a Wort (9 June), the Westernhagen cover band Willenlos-Sexy (30 June), the rock and soul band Skill Gang & S'Geile Blech (7 July) and the Oache Brothers (1 September), who stand for Southern Rock, will be there.

Free special concert with The Heimatdamisch on the day before the lake festival

The special concert of The Heimatdamisch on the day before the Wiesseer Seefest – i.e. on 18 August – is praised as a "special highlight". The eight-member formation around Florian Rein, the drummer of the Bananafishbones, presents chart hits, rock classics and pop songs from the 80s and 90s in their own distinctive Oberkrainer style. And there's good news on top of that: Admission to the special concert is free.

"I'm looking forward to many different bands and a good atmosphere at the lake," says Mayor Kühn, for whom it was important to expand the musical offerings in his community with a modern repertoire.

Party service Blümer provides catering for visitors

As in the previous year, the catering for the concertgoers will be provided by Peter Blümer's party service. If possible, he will adapt the food offer to the respective styles of music. In his wooden hut on the shores of Lake Wiessee, Blümer provides guests and locals with drinks and snacks during the season anyway.

Regardless of this, the municipality would like to create another temporary catering offer in the area of the lake promenade. At the beginning of the year, it had therefore started the search for an operator who would operate such a gastro hut for a limited period until December 2025 – as a replacement for the closed Gasthof Zur Post, so to speak.

Gastro hut on the lake: Talks with the authorities are still pending

Since then, however, nothing visible has happened. "We are still in coordination talks with the Palaces and Lakes Administration and nature conservation," reports Kühn. After all, the intended location on the lake is a sensitive area. A possible operator has already existed since the tender. "I would have liked it to be faster," says Kühn about the envisaged gastro hut on the lake. "But you can't just put them there."

Advance ticket sales for the concerts in the #wiesseerocks series have already begun. Tickets for 10 euros are available at the tourist information offices at Lake Tegernsee, via München Ticket and on tegernsee.muenchenticket.net, remaining tickets at the box office.
