The daughter of Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger, Jade Jagger, has been arrested on the Spanish island of Ibiza after assaulting police officers, a police source said Thursday without giving further details. The 51-year-old jewelry designer had been staying at a hotel on the island since at least May 11, according to her Instagram account.
She was arrested Wednesday along with a man following an altercation at a restaurant in the island's capital, Spanish newspaper El País reported, citing witnesses. The incident took place around 21 p.m. in a restaurant in the port area of Ibiza where Jade Jagger and a man were having dinner, when the latter became aggressive with the waiters, reports the Spanish daily.
The couple was evicted and police were called, with the man continuing the quarrel in the street with insults. When they arrived, the police were initially unable to intervene, as the man resisted arrest. Jade Jagger chose to attack the police officers by scratching and beating them, El País added. According to the newspaper, Mike Jagger's daughter will appear in court on Friday.
Born in 1971 in Paris, Mick and Bianca Jagger's only daughter knows the Balearic archipelago very well. After growing up in London's Chelsea, the mother of three moved to Ibiza when her first two daughters Assisi and Ambra were aged 2 and 6 respectively. Falling under the spell of a medieval farmhouse, she will live there for ten years before returning to a chic suburb of London.
