Motorists in Berlin have violently cracked down on activists of the climate group Last Generation. According to a dpa photographer, they dragged protesters on the A100 at the Kurfürstendamm exit on Friday morning, beating them and kicking them to prevent them from sticking. In total, activists of the last generation blocked traffic in the morning at a total of eleven locations in Berlin, as the police announced.
Berlin - According to the report, the federal highways leading into the city, Müllerstraße, Frankfurter Allee and Tempelhofer Damm, among others, were affected by the climate demonstrations. On the A100, four activists were on the road and two glued to a car, they blocked the left and right lanes, the middle lane was free. The police were on the scene. Also in the Müllerstraße, demonstrators of the group had glued their hands to the street.
On Thursday, activists of the Last Generation protested at 14 locations in Berlin for stronger political measures against climate change. According to the climate group, the blockades were deliberately aimed at obstructing holiday traffic out of the city. "We really don't enjoy being yelled at and dragged away by motorists," the group wrote on Twitter on Friday. "But the government's negligence in the face of impending crop failures, wars and social upheavals is forcing us to take to the streets." dpa
