Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin will visit China on May 23-24, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said on May 19. "At the invitation of Premier Li Qiang ... the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mishustin will pay an official visit to China from May 23 to 24," Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said.

China-Russia cooperation in economic and trade fields will be discussed," the Kremlin said. "Special attention will be paid to industry, energy, transport infrastructure and agriculture," the Kremlin added, adding that several bilateral agreements are expected to be signed during the visit.
A "new era"
Mikhail Mishustin will also travel to Shanghai where he will participate in a Sino-Russian economic forum. In mid-March, Chinese President Xi Jinping and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin praised the entry into a "new era" of their "special" relationship, following a summit in Moscow.
For nearly fifteen months, China has never publicly condemned Moscow's military intervention in Ukraine, unlike the majority of the world's major powers. China this week sent an envoy to Europe for "a political settlement of the Ukrainian crisis." After Ukraine on Tuesday and Wednesday, Li Hui is expected in Poland on Friday before travelling to France, Germany and Russia.
