An F-18 fighter jet crashed Saturday during a training flight at a Spanish air base in Zaragoza. The pilot managed to activate the ejector seat a few seconds before the crash in the base area, sustaining minor injuries. He himself parachuted outside the boundaries of the base. The Spanish Air Force said he had been taken to hospital for injuries to his legs and hands, where his life was not in danger. Apart from the plane, which was completely destroyed, there was no further damage from the crash. The plane hit the runway.
