As the ARGE informs, the construction work on the Westring begins with the prescribed explosive ordnance investigation and archaeology. For this purpose, the topsoil on the Westring will be removed.

Dredging work will begin on the north side of the Westring. "Unless archaeological finds delay the course of construction, the work will take about two weeks," says the ARGE's press release. After the completion of these earthworks, the actual expansion/reconstruction of the Westring is to begin.

According to the ARGE, with the exception of ongoing construction site traffic, "no major traffic disruptions are to be expected".
