They are not the first creative young entrepreneurs to apply to the Oberding municipal council for space as part of the expansion of the Eichenstraße Ost industrial park in Schwaig: On Tuesday, co-founders Stefan Oberdieck and Alexander Arenz presented their tech start-up "Smart Industry Solutions", which is currently based in Erding, to the municipal council.
Oberding – The two entrepreneurs, who live in Erding and Freising, founded their company in 2021 and have been in the automotive business for around ten years. Its customers include well-known names such as BMW, BASF, AGFA, Audi, Stihl and Kyocera. The company advertises itself as a full-service provider of wiring systems and automation solutions with its own development and production. The goal is to serve customers with individualized complete solutions. Among other things, it involves development, prototyping and small series production of electronic vehicle components and machine parts as well as test and production automation, consulting and trading.
The current company building with office, laboratory and hall on Albert-Einstein-Straße in Altenerding has around 1200 square meters. "We are slowly reaching our limits there," the founders reported. In Schwaig, they are hoping for 3000 square meters for factory and delivery areas, offices and laboratories. The company wants to expand, currently there are 25 employees, at the start in July 2021 there were only four. The growth potential is therefore great, the sales target for this year is ten million euros. The company currently has 130 customers, compared to 100 new customers last year.
Oberdieck and Arenz reported that they want to open up areas outside the automotive industry. They are constantly on the lookout for personnel – for engineers, technicians, master craftsmen, skilled workers or clerks. The focus is also on the next generation, whether trainees, interns, working students or dual students in areas such as electrical engineering, wiring systems and industrial engineering.
In total, the municipality is expanding the business in a large special area on Eichenstraße to almost 20 hectares. As reported, a good half of this will go to logistics company Group7, which will thus triple its operating area. Other companies that will be involved in the company casting are not yet known. Apart from Group7, the municipality has not yet concluded any contracts, says managing director Josef Steinkirchner when asked.
