The Football Federation of Iraq issued a statement on Saturday on the events that transpired in the concentration of the selection of that country in a hotel in La Plata and whose judicial investigation is paralyzed, since a complaint was never filed by the employee who would have suffered abuse by a footballer.

In the statement, reports the Telam agency, they speak of "rumors" and "inaccurate news", while exposing "the leadership of the delegation confirms that things are fine and that there is nothing that disturbs the peace."

The text adds that "everyone must show responsibility and be careful when dealing with information, especially since the National Team is waiting for an important match."

The Iraqi youth is staying at the Dazzler Hotel, located in the geographical center of the Buenos Aires capital and trained on some occasions in the property that Estudiantes owns in City Bell, where they fenced the courts destined with tarps and they did it with a strong security operation, arranged by the organization.

Finally, the Federation urged Arab supporters and media "to stand up and support the team, and boost the morale of the players to present themselves in the best way at the World Cup."

Iraq will make its debut at the Ciudad de La Plata Stadium "Diego Maradona" this Monday at 18 against the Uruguay team.

The beginning of the scandal with the Iraqi team in the Under-20 World Cup

As it transpired this Friday and Clarín was able to confirm, the incident occurred at the Dazzler hotel, located in front of Plaza Moreno, in the geographical center of La Plata. There, one of the players of the Asian team would have "touched the private parts" and committed other "physical excesses" to one of the workers of the hotel complex.

The fact transcended because when the aggression occurred, the affected young woman began to scream and the security agents who work in the public spaces of the building had to intervene.

In addition, police sources confirmed that there were some complaints about "noises and loud music" heard from outside the rooms. The authorities of the accommodation company would have raised claims: "They complained in the hotel that the Iraqis are a lot of time of celebrations and damage the facilities," they admitted in a police station in La Plata.

There was, for this reason, an official intervention of the Ministry of Security. An official from that division went to the lobby of the lodging to gather information.

There those responsible for the operation said that the athletes "wandered through the corridors with underwear" and that they would have proceeded to activate the fire alarms, among other irregularities.
