Two hikers from Germany have an accident during a tour in the Austrian Alps. A helicopter flies her to a hospital with serious injuries.
Oberndorf in Tyrol – For two German hikers, an excursion on Friday (May 20) in the Alps in Austria ended fatally: The two fell about 145 meters during their climbing tour in Oberndorf in Tyrol and suffered serious injuries.

The 44-year-old and the 49-year-old wanted to climb the Kitzbüheler Horn via a path partly secured with ropes, the news agency zoom.tirol reported. At an altitude of about 1765 meters, the trail crossed a snowfield on which the hikers apparently slipped.

They fell over a steep gully interspersed with rocks before finally coming to rest. Both hikers were seriously injured. A helicopter was able to rescue the Germans and fly them to the Innsbruck State Hospital.
In a tragic accident in Switzerland, a 14-year-old hiker has died. In his fall, he is said to have dragged another boy into the depths. (kas)
