Police stop traffic hooligan after 50 kilometers of riot

A 19-year-old from Hesse puts other motorists in danger with risky maneuvers on the A 99 and A 8 motorways - until the police can stop him.

He raced, braked abruptly, changed lanes wildly, overtook partly on the hard shoulder and forced other motorists to brake hard: A 19-year-old from Hesse endangered various other road users on Saturday morning on the A 99 and A 8 motorways with risky maneuvers. After a 50-kilometer riot drive, a patrol of the Holzkirchen highway police was finally able to stop the rabid Audi driver at the Seehamer See parking lot near Weyarn.

The first alarm was received by the police on Saturday at 6.40 a.m., when a 22-year-old from the district of Munich reported – with his BMW, he was driving on the A 99 in the construction site area between the Aschheim-Ismaning and Aschheim-Kirchheim junctions. There, where the speed limit is currently 80 km/h because of the construction site, he saw in the rear-view mirror that a black Audi was roaring up at a greatly excessive speed. Fearing a collision, the 22-year-old switched from the left to the right lane. But: In front of him was another car in the left lane, which is why the black Audi braked abruptly and cut in directly in front of the BMW. A delicate manoeuvre that forced the 22-year-old to make an emergency and emergency stop, which he managed with great difficulty.

Affected person maintains visual contact

The BMW driver reported this incident to the police via an emergency call, who in turn instructed him to keep an eye on the black Audi if possible. The 22-year-old did so and maintained visual contact with the black Audi, which raced along the A 99 to the Munich-South junction and then onto the A 8 in the direction of Salzburg. Later, the 22-year-old reported his observations to the police: that the Audi was repeatedly traveling at greatly excessive speed, overtaking vehicles on the right and also partly over the hard shoulder.

A patrol of the Holzkirchen motorway police station was finally able to stop the black Audi at the Seehamer See car park and subject the traffic hooligan to a check. At the wheel was a 19-year-old from Hesse. The 22-year-old BMW driver also stopped and described what had happened to the officers.

Public Prosecutor's Office orders seizure of driver's license

The facts of the case amounted to several crimes, including endangering road traffic and coercion. The police consulted with the responsible public prosecutor's office in Munich I – held, which ordered the securing of the driver's license of the 19-year-old Hesse on the spot. Since he was no longer allowed to drive the Audi without a driver's license, he had to be picked up on site by his parents.

Police ask for more witness information

In connection with this trip, the police are now looking for witnesses and other injured parties who have observed the driving behavior of the black Audi A4 or have been endangered themselves. Anyone travelling south on the A6 and on the A30 in the direction of Salzburg between 7.99 a.m. and 8 a.m. and can provide information on the facts described is asked to report to the Hohenbrunn Traffic Police Inspectorate on Tel. 0 81 02 / 7 44 50 or to any other police station.
