On 24th September next the five Senate seats in Essonne will be renewed. Around 2,500 grand electors (municipal, departmental, regional, deputies and senators) will be called to ballot. But the mayor of Corbeil-Essonnes (DVG), Bruno Piriou, has decided to put his grain of salt and calls to get out of this logic of parties. The elected official specifies from the outset that he will not be a candidate in this election.
For this, he invites the grand electors to a first meeting Wednesday, May 24, at 19:30 pm, at the MJC Fernand-Leger of Corbeil-Essonnes. Since the death of Olivier Léonhardt (DVG) on February 2, 2022, the left no longer has a senator in Essonne, which regrets Bruno Piriou, for whom the role of the upper house is important: "Who knows, for example, that among the five senators of Essonne, four voted for the adoption of the text increasing retirement to 64 years and one abstained. Faced with traditional parties in decline, Bruno Piriou invites the grand electors to come and "discuss the content of a senatorial program and the candidates to be presented, which senators we need to defend our values, our projects, rather than letting the parties put us in front of the fait accompli.
