Ran Erez, chairman of the teachers' union, sent a letter to teachers on Sunday evening informing them of new sanctions in the wage protest. Among other things, Erez forbade them to hold graduation parties in any of the age groups (10-12), which would house graduation parties. However, many schools hold outdoor proms at a cost of hundreds of shekels per student.
In addition to curfews on annual trips and extracurricular activities, Erez wrote to teachers and principals that "departures to Poland should not be planned because we will not allow them." He added that "it is forbidden to embark on activities of any kind outside the school walls, both during and after the school day, including, this time, going to Poland and preparing for those departures. About everyone, including the principals and parents."
Another meeting of negotiations between the teachers' union and the treasury took place today but brought no progress. "They feel that being at the end of the academic year, and during matriculation exams that we don't want to harm, is a reason to continue to belittle our demands and reject them. Their proposals are merely an erosion of teachers' salaries in secondary education, and we will not agree to this under any circumstances," Erez said.

The teachers' union is disrupting studies due to a battle with the Finance Ministry over high school teachers' salaries and working conditions. The organization is demanding a salary of NIS 12,10 for a beginning teacher and that the salaries of veteran teachers rise accordingly. On the other hand, the Ministry of Finance offers a salary of NIS 850,<> for a beginning teacher and salary increases of no less than NIS <> for veteran teachers. The gap between the sides is still large – and the Ministry of Finance claims that Erez is demanding much more than they can and are willing to give.
Over the past two months, the court has prevented the teachers' union from shutting down classes in grades 10-11 several times after issuing an injunction.
