US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller condemned National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir's ascension to the Temple Mount on Monday, saying, "We are deeply concerned by the provocative visit to the Temple Mount and this inflammatory rhetoric."

Not only that, Miller also referred to the order signed by the commander of the Central Command, Maj. Gen. Yehuda Fuchs, permitting a stay in Homesh: "We are very troubled by the Israeli order that will permit permanent stay in the northern West Bank. The order is inconsistent with the Israeli government's commitments to the Biden administration." According to Miller, "continued construction of Israeli settlements in the West Bank is an obstacle to achieving a two-state solution."

Yesterday, Jordan, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and the Palestinian Authority condemned Ben-Gvir's ascension to the Temple Mount, claiming it was perceived as a "provocative" act that hurt the feelings of Muslims around the world. It was also claimed that Ben-Gvir's visit to the Mount was a "violation" of the holy sites in Jerusalem and an attempt to harm the status quo there.

"An onslaught by extremist Itamar Ben-Gvir has serious consequences," Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas' office said in a statement that the visit "will not change reality and will not impose Israeli sovereignty."

Yesterday, National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir ascended the Temple Mount, just two days after Jerusalem Day. In a video he distributed from his visit to the Mount, the minister declared that "in the coming budget, we must invest in the Negev and Galilee."

Ben-Gvir reiterated that "we are the landlords" and referred again to the state budget: "Jerusalem is our soul, the Negev and Galilee are our soul, we must invest, we must act there, we must also own the Negev, the Galilee as well, and the base is the budget."

Tag Meir attacked, "Ben-Gvir and a friend of his associates seek to change by force the status quo on the Temple Mount and set Jerusalem and the Middle East on fire," they said, "How long will we continue to pay the price of Ben-Gvir's irresponsible appointment as Minister of National Security of the State of Israel?"

On Thursday, as part of Jerusalem Day events, Minister Yitzhak Wasserlauf of Ben-Gvir's party also visited the Temple Mount, as well as a number of Likud MKs, including Ariel Kelner, Dan Illouz and Amit Halevi. Even then, the foreign ministries of Jordan, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, and Egypt condemned the Knesset members' ascension to the Temple Mount.

Not only them, but Degel HaTorah Chairman MK Moshe Gafni called on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to prevent elected officials from continuing to ascend to the Temple Mount. "Recently, Knesset members and ministers have been going up to the Temple Mount," Gafni said. "I appeal to you to prevent the ascent to the Temple Mount, both on the political issue and on the security issue, and the main thing is that there is no reason for it, it does not reveal sovereignty, on the contrary it constitutes blasphemy in the place most connected to the Jewish people and the holiest for it."
