A couple was shot dead in La Matanza, in an attack that would have as a motive a revenge for an alleged infidelity.
The incident occurred on Sunday, at the corner of 9 de Julio and Roosvelt, in the town of Villa Celina, where a neighbor heard a male voice exclaiming: "You are the one on the bicycle, what are you doing with my wife?"; After which, he heard at least three gunshots.
According to sources, after alerting 911 of what happened, police personnel found a 28-year-old man lying in the street dead of a shot in the head and his partner, 32, also badly wounded in the skull.
Given this situation, the woman, of Bolivian nationality, was transferred to the Ballestrini Hospital in La Matanza, where she died shortly after from the gunshot wounds suffered in the attack.
At the scene of the crime, the experts of the Scientific Police seized three served pods and a deformed lead, while they found that both victims were carrying their belongings and valuables, so the motive for the robbery was discarded.
Then, the investigations added the testimony of the neighbor who heard one of the alleged shooters accuse the murdered young man, of Peruvian nationality, of having starred in an infidelity with his wife, so now the investigators follow that track, the spokesmen added.
According to witnesses, the murdered couple resided in the neighborhood where they were shot, but the aggressors would not be from the area.
The incident is being investigated by prosecutor Matías Folino, of the Homicide Homicide Functional Unit (UFI) of La Matanza, and staff from the Villa Celina police station.
Another crime in the area
A 19-year-old man was killed by a shot in the back also in Villa Celina and a suspect was arrested for the crime.
The incident occurred yesterday at 2:20 a.m. on Evaristo Carriego and Lanín streets, where neighbors heard several shots and called 911.
According to sources, when police personnel arrived at the scene they found a young man identified as José Emilio Torres Navarro (19), of Bolivian nationality, dead of a bullet in the back.
From the first investigative tasks, the police investigations arrested shortly after a suspect of 28 years and Peruvian nationality as accused of being the author of the crime.
The sources explained that the accused was identified from a series of images from security cameras, although until this afternoon they were still trying to determine the motive for the murder.
For his part, the accused refused to testify when questioned by the prosecutor of the case, Matías Folino, of the Functional Unit of Instruction (UFI) of Homicides of La Matanza.
