Upper Isar Valley - Music connects people, just as roads do. So it's no wonder that the "SAITENSTRASSEN" music festival from 16 to 18 June brings musicians and guests together to celebrate music, the region and togetherness.
More than 400 musicians from the Alpine region and from European partner countries will play from Friday 16 June to Sunday 18 June 2023 in the three towns of Mittenwald, Krün and Wallgau. The mixture of folk music and classical music makes the music festival something very special. The festival centres in Mittenwald, Krün and Wallgau form the musical heart of the SAITENSTRASSEN and attract visitors with top-class evening concerts. The guests are:
The Inntaler, the Hallgrafen Musikanten, the Alpenlandler Musikanten, the Tegernseer Tanzlmusi, the Goiserer Klarinettenmusi, the Wüdara, the Ebbser Kaiserklang, the Windstreich Musikanten, the Radauer Ensemble and the Tiroler Wirtshausmusikanten.
The ceremonial opening will take place on Thursday evening, June 15, 2023, in the Mittenwald marquee in the Puit, at 19 pm. In addition to the Garmisch-Partenkirchen Mountain Music Corps, groups from the towns of the Isar Valley and the flamenco troupe from Jerez, Andalusia, will perform. Admission to the marquee is free. The festive concerts will then follow from 16 June to 18 June in the festival centres in Mittenwald, Krün and Wallgau. During the day, more than 80 folk music groups from southern Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy play free of charge at numerous venues in the Upper Isar Valley. Tickets for the evening concerts in the festival centres cost €19 each. Available at the tourist information offices in Mittenwald, Krün and Wallgau or at saitenstrassen.de and at the box office.
