An agent of the Interdepartmental Directorate of Atlantic Roads (Dira) was killed and another injured on Monday by a car that mowed them down while they were intervening on a major axis of Charente-Maritime, according to the Dira.
The driver of the vehicle involved was seriously injured. The accident occurred at midday on the RN11, near La Rochelle, where this patrol intervened to secure the surroundings of a truck that broke down on the 2x2 lanes.

One of the officers died instantly, the other was hospitalized in relative emergency, according to a statement from Transport Minister Clément Beaune, who sent his condolences to the family of the deceased victim and was to go to the scene at the end of the day.
