The journalist told in great detail how was the trap in which he fell and for which an acquaintance of his lost 120 thousand pesos.

Ernesto Tenembaum told this Monday in his program And now who can help us?, which leads on Radio con Vos (FM 89.9), how was the scam he suffered at the end of last week and that ended with the hacking of his WhatsApp account.

"I'm going to talk a minute and a half per clock andthen they tell me 'you're a bunch' without problems," the journalist anticipated to his cycle companions before beginning to tell in great detail what had happened to him.

And he started: "Friday, half past ten, I'm leaving here. Eleven thirty I was coming home, quite tired, as always happens to me at that time, and I see a call that enters the screen of the car and I make the mistake of attending. Someone, with the voice that I later realized was deformed, says to me, 'Sir, we are talking about the Ministry of Health.'"

"Oh, no, what a gil. I'm not going to let you talk for a minute and a half," his teammate Gustavo Grabia interrupted him, laughing. But at the insistence of Tamara Pettinato, who was also in the studio, Tenembaum continued.

The scam on Tenembaum happened last Friday right after his radio show.

"We want to inform you that the Ministry of Health is distributing a vaccination credential that will be required to go to certain places," said the journalist who was the excuse with which he was deceived.

Then, Tenembaum explained that they began to ask him different questions related to the coronavirus such as the number of vaccines that were given and what types. Until at a certain point they asked him where he wanted to pick up the new credential and as he asked to have it sent to his house, they took the opportunity to scam him.

"Right now you have a code on your cell phone that we just sent you, just look at the screen and pass it to me," they asked. And after he dictated exactly the message that had arrived, they asked him for something that made him realize that they were deceiving him: "Now keep driving and leave the cell phone unconnected," they told him.

Then, when he arrived home, Tenembaum tried to connect to WhatsApp and could not, because he had been hacked with that message that he had provided. "Moral: don't give any code," the journalist asked his listeners.

How the scam continued from the WhatsApp hack

Once with the WhatsApp account in their possession, the scammers started asking their contacts for money. "Immediately calls started coming in letting me know they were asking for guita on my behalf," said Tenembaum, who was quickly mentored by his children.

"There were two people who fell. One was able to realize quickly and canceled the transfer he made that was 75 thousand pesos, "he said, in addition, about the amounts of money that began to ask on his behalf. "And the other one who fell was Yami (a person close to her radio environment), she made a comment about a note before we left, I had just answered it and there it happened, then she thought it was me," she explained and said that she sent 120 thousand.
