Four men, a father, son and two brothers, were arrested Monday morning on suspicion of involvement in the murder of Bayan Abbas in the village of Cana in the Lower Galilee in March. Abbas, a 29-year-old woman, was shot dead at the entrance to her home and in front of her children, aged one and a half and three.
About two months after the investigation began, police raided the home of the four suspects and arrested them. Today, the police will request an extension of their detention at the Nazareth Magistrate's Court until the end of the investigation.

Fadi Abbas, Bayan's husband, mourned her death a few days after the murder. "They took my heart," he said. "They killed her in front of her son, and not accidentally. They wanted to kill someone."

Fathi Shehadeh, a lawyer and relative of Bayan, said she was sitting with her husband and children when two people arrived on a scooter and began shooting them. "They murdered her in cold blood, it's a heinous murder," he charged. He said Bayan and her husband had nothing to do with the shooters and were not threatened.
He said of Bian: "She was an amazing woman, she loved her husband and her husband loved her dearly. They married out of love. They have two children, a daughter and a son. She loved to sit and tell jokes. This is a woman who just wanted to live in peace with her husband in peace. They loved their lives."
