Is Liot's text likely to pass? Barring an institutional coup de théâtre by then, the National Assembly will vote on June 8 on the repeal of the most controversial part of the pension reform, including the postponement of the legal age to 64. As this deadline approaches, many in the Macron camp are worried about the future of this bill, which requires a simple, not an absolute, majority to be adopted. In fact, abstentions are almost as dangerous as votes in favour. However, after the rejection by nine votes of the motion of censure tabled at the end of March by Liot, this new initiative offers the oppositions the hope of inflicting a symbolic slap on the executive.
