Berlin – The climate strike in Berlin continues – almost every day, activists of the "Last Generation" glue themselves to the streets. On Friday (19 May), they blocked a total of eleven locations in the morning, police said. Below it again is the A100 city motorway at the Kurfürstenstraße exit.
The situation has escalated again. At least two motorists lost their temper because of the blockade in the morning. They attacked the climate activists with punches and kicks, reports a photographer from the German Press Agency. The angry motorists are said to have tried to prevent the protesters from gluing themselves.

The "Last Generation" captured parts of this description in a video and posted the clip on Twitter. Two men can be seen attacking the protesters. One drags several activists off the street, the other rushes up to a seated activist in white work gear and kicks him. The activist slumps to the ground.
The whole thing took place under a shrill concert of horns. In addition, angry shouts from passers-by in the Vdeo can be clearly understood: "Go to work, you pigs!", "You complete idiots, dude!", "Get out!" It is not uncommon for motorists to insult the "climate glue".
At the request of Merkur.de of IPPEN. MEDIA, the "Last Generation" cannot give more details about the incident. Any injuries to activists were apparently at least not registered.

On Twitter, the group commented on the incident and wrote: "We really don't enjoy being yelled at and dragged away by motorists. But the government's negligence in the face of looming crop failures, wars and social upheavals is forcing us to take to the streets."
