Rome – The situation in Italy is critical. The northern Italian region of Emilia Romagna, the Marche region and the upper Adriatic Sea are particularly affected. Storms with heavy rainfall cause flooding in the cities and on the ground. People are trapped in their homes, streets have turned into raging floods. There are fatalities, several people are missing, thousands have to be evacuated. The Civil Protection warned on Monday (15 May). There is no relaxation in sight. The bad weather is expected to last for several days with breaks.
