Uruguay debuted on Monday in the U-20 World Cup in Argentina with a 4-0 win over Iraq, in a match played at the Estadio Único 'Diego Armando Maradona' in La Plata, in which La Celeste dominated from start to finish and catapulted it to the top of Group E.
Matías Abaldo, Andrés Ferrari, Facundo González and Alan Matturro, the last three heads, scored the goals that gave the first three points to those led by Marcelo Broli.
With Fabricio Diaz shooting from midfield, Uruguay dominated the opening minutes of a match in which Franco Gonzalez, Luciano Rodriguez and Ferrari became a headache for the opposing defense.
Iraq turned their game to the left and bet on the speed and good ball handling of Youssef Amyn, although the clearest came from the right through a powerful shot by Ali Jasim.
La Celeste approached on several occasions, two of these created by Rodríguez and another by Franco González, who handled the threads of those directed by Broli and was the great figure of the first part.
In fact, a spectacular play of the 'Brush' was transformed in the 38th minute in the first goal when the number 10 enabled Matías Abaldo and this left goalkeeper Hussein Hasan without options with a powerful shot.
In the second half nothing changed and Uruguay soon stretched the lead.
Barely three minutes had passed when Ferrari took advantage of a great cross from Abaldo and with a powerful head strike put to shout the many fans who crossed the Rio de la Plata to encourage La Celeste.

And with the same formula Uruguay transformed the victory into a goal in the 61st minute of running time.
Diaz finished off a corner kick to the center of the box and center back Facundo Gonzalez jumped higher than everyone to make it 3-0 with a powerful header.
La Celeste did not take its foot off the accelerator and came close to the fourth goal on several occasions. Iraq came close to discounting a powerful shot from Ali Sadeq that found a good response from goalkeeper Randall Rodriguez.
When added time was already played, a header from Matturro after another great corner kick executed by Díaz became the fourth goal.
Uruguay scored and added its first three points, the same as England accumulates after beating Tunisia by the minimum.
Next Thursday, also in the city of La Plata, La Celeste and the British will face each other.
